The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration's Highway Safety Office (MHSO) wants to thank you for your participation at the 2014 Maryland Highway Safety Summit - Connecting the Dots to Save Lives Together.  The Summit served as  an opportunity to learn, share and gather best practices that will serve as the foundation for the 2016-2020 Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP).

The mission of MHSO is to save lives and prevent injuries by reducing the number and severity of motor-vehicle crashes through a comprehensive and effective network of traffic safety programs.

The Summit included attendees from the 4 E's of highway safety (Engineering, Enforcement, Education, & Emergency Medical Services). Approximately 300 attended the February 24 through the 26th event. Presentations were delivered for the SHSP emphasis area teams which included - Aggressive Driving, Distracted Driving, Highway Infrastructure, Impaired Driving, Occupant Protection and Pedestrian Safety, with a special session for Public Information Officers.
