Maryland Strategic Highway Safety Plan Summit
April 26, 2016
About the Event
The Executive Council of the Maryland Strategic Highway Safety Plan, in conjunction with the Maryland Highway Safety Office, is proud to announce the 2016 Strategic Highway Safety Plan Summit. The Summit will support the strong network of colleagues, across the 4 E’s of highway safety (engineering, education, enforcement and emergency responders), that have been working Toward Zero Deaths to save lives together.
This one day event will be held at The Conference Center at the Maritime Institute, in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, on April 26, 2016 and serve to provide an opportunity to learn, share and improve upon highway safety for Maryland, using the 2016 - 2020 Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) as the implementing tool.
The SHSP is a statewide, coordinated, comprehensive, traffic safety plan that provides the framework for reducing highway fatalities and serious injuries on all public streets and highways. It establishes overall goals and objectives as well as objectives and strategies within each of six key emphasis areas (Aggressive Driving, Distracted Driving, Highway Infrastructure, Impaired Driving, Occupant Protection, and Pedestrians and Bicyclists). The most important benefit of this Summit is the opportunity to bring together safety partners to roll out the identified best practices, successes and challenges as well as increase the number of members on each of the Emphasis Area Teams. Your participation in this event is essential in helping to create safer transportation for the State of Maryland.
Key highlights of the summit include:
The event is FREE to invited attendees but registration is required. Free parking and complimentary meals are included during the Summit. We hope that you will take the time to join us for the 2016 Maryland Strategic Highway Safety Plan Summit; an event where everyone is working together "Toward Zero Deaths".
